Play Better Book Club

A social skills training program for parents of children who struggle socially

Nothing erodes a child’s self-esteem more than being on the outside looking in. This is a heartbreaking scenario for children and parents alike.

ADD/ADHD Coaching

Do you see your child:

  • Being oblivious to how others perceive her?
  • Lacking important social skills?
  • Being made fun of by peers?
  • Excluded because other kids don’t want to play with him?
  • Having friendships that don’t last?
  • Feeling lonely and left out?

Linda is personally familiar with these challenges, because she was that child struggling socially through her school years—including college and beyond. She couldn’t understand what she did to turn people off, or to make herself a target of hurtful remarks from peers. As an adult she finally learned the social skills needed to fit in and be part of a group. She is now confident in social situations and blessed with lasting and rewarding friendships. If only her mom could have helped her learn how to get along with her peers when she was young! Her mom did her best, but these specific skills and tools were not recognized until much, much later.

Linda is thrilled to now offer the help that she wishes had been available to her when she was growing up. The Play Better Book Club group is designed for parents of children and adolescents who struggle with being accepted and finding friends.

This eight-session program for parents covers the Play Better Plan based on the book, Why Will No One Play With Me? by Author Caroline Maguire. PCC, M.Ed. Caroline has been featured in WebMD, US News & World Report, The New York Times, NPR, ADDitude Magazine and many other national media outlets.

Linda personally trained with Caroline and she finds it incredibly rewarding to now help others find their way. The Play Better Book Club group gives parents tools, resources, and support to help their socially-struggling children.

Testimonial

“The coaching program saved us. It literally saved us. I learned that I wasn’t alone-that other parents were going through the same issues. I learned so much about my daughter-all her many, beautiful layers. And even more importantly, I was given the tools and strategies I needed to help Sonya gain self-confidence again and make real friends.”
